Festival of new music, Cromer, March 2026

I’m very excited to be involved in a new venture, working in collaboration with Jane Wells and Ian Mitchell, to create a festival of new music in Cromer, on the North Norfolk coast, during the period 20 – 22 March 2026. There will be three concerts, combining new works by Evan Turner, Jane Wells and myself with a mixture of pieces by more familiar composers, all performed by the brilliant London-based ensemble Gemini. In addition, there will be two workshops: one for young composers and the other for saxophonists of all ages. Many of the composers included in the programmes have strong connections with Norfolk, such as E.J. Moeran, Nicola LeFanu and Jane Wells. It’s going to be a great pleasure for me to be working again with Gemini, with whom I was closely involved at the start of my professional career.
